Meeting at the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the delegation of the Shura Council of the State of Qatar

On June 30, Mr. Fazail Ibrahimli, the Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, met with the delegation led by Ms. Hamda Alsulaiti, Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council of the State of Qatar, visiting Azerbaijan to participate in the Baku Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network.

Welcoming the guests, Mr. Fazail Ibrahimli expressed his great appreciation for their participation in the Baku Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network. He highlighted that Azerbaijan had been chairing the Non-Aligned Movement since 2019. Mr. Ibrahimli highly valued the Baku Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network dedicated to the theme of “Boosting the role of national parliaments in promoting global peace and sustainable development” and expressed his views on the event.

Ms. Hamda Alsulaiti, Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council of the State of Qatar, extended her gratitude for the meeting. She praised the fact that Azerbaijan took the initiative to create the Parliamentary Network as the chairing country of the Non-Aligned Movement. Ms. Hamda Alsulaiti emphasized that the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network created a solid basis for the development of cooperation between supreme legislative bodies.

Opinions on other topics of interest to the parties were also exchanged during the meeting.
