Meeting at the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the Member of the Assembly of the Republic of Mozambique

On June 29, Mr. Adil Aliyev, Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, met with Ms. Telmina Manuel Paixão Pinho Pereira, Member of the Assembly of the Republic of Mozambique, visiting Azerbaijan to participate in the Baku Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network.
Welcoming the guest, the Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis expressed that he highly valued the visit of the MP to our country within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network's Baku Conference and spoke about Azerbaijan's leadership role in this movement since 2019. Mr. Adil Aliyev said that with the initiatives of H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Incumbent Chair of the Non-Aligned Movement, important steps have been taken by the Movement to ensure global cooperation and security.
It was emphasized that the successful global initiatives of H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, such as convening the summit meeting of the Contact Group of the Non-Aligned Movement related to the COVID-19 crisis, as well as holding a special session of the UN General Assembly dedicated to combating COVID-19, were welcomed by the international community.
He praised the Baku Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network dedicated to the theme of "Boosting the role of national parliaments in promoting global peace and sustainable development" and shared his views about the event.
Expressing her gratitude for the warm welcome, Ms. Telmina Manuel Paixao Pinho Pereira pointed out that the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network is an important institution and highly appreciated the humanitarian steps taken by our country.
At the meeting, opinions were exchanged on other issues of interest to the parties.
