Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Ms. Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of South Africa

On May 17, Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Ms. Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of South Africa, during her visit to Azerbaijan in the framework of the Special Session of the Milli Majlis dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

Ms. Sahiba Gafarova thanked Ms. Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula for her participation at the Special Session of the Milli Majlis and the heartfelt speech she delivered. Ms. Mapisa-Nqakula, in turn, expressed her gratitude for the invitation and the wonderful organisation of this event.

Chairperson Sahiba Gafarova recalled with pleasure her earlier encounters with Ms. Nosiviwe Mapisa-

Nqakula, saying that such meetings and the dialogue contribute to the deepening of inter-parliamentary cooperation. 

Chairperson spoke about the recent activities of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network and took institutional measures for development as an efficient interparliamentary cooperation platform.

At the meeting, ideas were exchanged on further expansion of parliamentary diplomacy within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network.
