Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Abdel Wahab Abdel Razek, Chairman of the Senate of the Arab Republic of Egypt

On 26 May, Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Abdel Wahab Abdel Razek, Chairman of the Senate of the Arab Republic of Egypt, within the framework of his official visit to Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, the importance of cooperation within international organizations was emphasized, with particular attention drawn to the Non-Aligned Movement. Satisfaction was expressed with the joint activities and mutual support demonstrated within this framework.

Ms. Sahiba Gafarova provided detailed information on the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, noting that the Network was established at the initiative of President H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev and that its institutionalization process is currently ongoing. She underlined the growing role of the NAM PN as an effective platform for strengthening parliamentary dialogue, coordination, and solidarity among member states.

The Egyptian side expressed support for the activities of the NAM PN, and views were exchanged on its future development prospects, highlighting the Network’s contribution to enhancing cooperation, mutual understanding, and coordinated approaches to international issues of common interest.
