Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Abdel Wahab Abedel Razeq, Speaker of the Senate of the Arab Republic of Egypt

On February 9, Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Abdel Wahab Abedel Razeq, Speaker of the Senate of the Arab Republic of Egypt within the framework of the official visit to Egypt.
Mr. Abdel Wahab Abedel Razeq, Speaker of the Senate of the Arab Republic of Egypt, warmly greeted Ms. Sahiba Gafarova. Speaker of the Senate recalled his participation in the First Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network held in Baku in June last year and shared his positive impressions.
Speaker of the Egyptian Senate expressed that they attach special importance to the cooperation with the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network and voiced the readiness to help foster this interaction. Mr. Abdel Wahab Abedel Razeq praised inputs of the Azerbaijani Chairmanship to the work of the Parliamentary Network and the high organisational standards set by the Baku Conference.
Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network expressed her thankfulness to the Speaker of the Egyptian Senate for the generous hospitality. Ms. Sahiba Gafarova recalled that the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network was established on the initiative of H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and incumbent Chair of the Non-Aligned Movement, in order to promote the parliamentary dimension of the NAM. Chairperson spoke about the First Conference of the NAM PN held in Baku and the taken measures for ensuring the organisational and institutional development of the Parliamentary Network. Ms. Sahiba Gafarova recalled with pleasure the participation of the delegation headed by the Speaker of the Egyptian Senate in the Baku Conference.
During the meeting, exchanges of opinions on other issues of mutual interest were also conducted.
