Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Adel bin Abdul Rahman Al Asoomi, President of the Arab Parliament

On February 21, Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Adel bin Abdul Rahman Al Asoomi, President of the Arab Parliament, in the framework of the 14th Plenary Session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly held in Azerbaijan.

Ms. Sahiba Gafarova greeted Mr. Adel bin Abdul Rahman Al Asoomi and expressed her appreciation for his participation at the 14th Plenary Session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly.

Chairperson Ms. Sahiba Gafarova recalled the participation of Mr. Adel bin Abdul Rahman Al Asoomi in the 1st Conference of the NAM PN held in Baku in 2022. Ms. Sahiba Gafarova noted that the adoption of the decision by the Arab Parliament to grant the status of an observer to the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network was highly appreciated.  

Mr. Adel bin Abdul Rahman Al Asoomi, President of the Arab Parliament, thanked for the invitation to Baku. President Al Assomi underlined that the Arab Parliament considers it important to strengthen beneficial cooperation with the NAM Parliamentary Network.

Other matters of shared interest were discussed during the meeting as well.
