Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Ahmad bin Salman Al-Musalam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives of the Kingdom of Bahrain

On February 21, Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Ahmad bin Salman Al-Musalam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives of the Kingdom of Bahrain, in the framework the 14th Plenary Session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly held in Azerbaijan.

Chairperson Sahiba Gafarova thanked Mr. Ahmad bin Salman Al-Musalam for having taken part at the 14th Plenary Session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly. Ms Sahiba Gafarova underlined the importance of cooperation within the framework of various inter-parliamentary organizations.

Ms. Sahiba Gafarova stated that the establishment of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network at the initiative of H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan is another contribution of our country to global cooperation, noting that the Parliamentary Network is becoming an important platform for promoting inter-parliamentary cooperation. The Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network appreciated of the active involvement of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the work of the Organisation.

Mr. Ahmad bin Salman Al-Musalam referred to the successful chairmanship of Azerbaijan in the Non-Aligned Movement and emphasised that the Azerbaijani presidency had played a tremendous role in the advancement of that Organisation.

At the meeting, ideas were exchanged on further expansion of parliamentary diplomacy within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network.
