Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Enaam Mayara, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM), who was visiting Azerbaijan to participate in COP29.

On 19 November, Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, discussed about the Parliamentary Meeting held on 16-17 November, organized jointly by the Milli Majlis and the Inter-Parliamentary Union, where parliamentarians from various countries gathered to discuss climate change. She underscored the significant role of parliaments in global climate policy and shared the final document of the meeting, which reflected a unified position on the issue.

The discussions also focused on potential avenues for future cooperation between NAM PN and PAM, with both sides expressing the importance of strengthening inter-parliamentary collaboration to address the global climate crisis.
