Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Gelase Daniel Ndabirabe, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Parliament of the Republic of Burundi

On July 1, Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network held a meeting with Mr. Gelase Daniel Ndabirabe, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Parliament of the Republic of Burundi, visiting Azerbaijan to participate in the organization's Baku Conference.

During the meeting, Ms. Sahiba Gafarova expressed her great appreciation for the participation of the Republic of Burundi in the activities of the Non-Aligned Movement and spoke about the importance of the Parliamentary Network’s Baku Conference. Ms. Sahiba Gafarova drew attention to the fact that this event was held within the framework of the initiative put forward by H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as the chairman of the Non-Aligned Movement. She noted that the Inaugural Meeting of the Parliamentary Network was held in Madrid last November. The Chairperson emphasized the importance of the issues of a global scale raised at the Baku Conference.

Mr. Gelase Daniel Ndabirabe, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Parliament of the Republic of Burundi, expressed his gratitude for the cordial meeting. He voiced his gratefulness to the Azerbaijani side for organizing the Baku Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network at such a high level. He expressed his support of this initiative of Azerbaijan and spoke about the importance of the issues discussed at the conference.

Meeting was continued with the exchange of opinions on other issues of mutual interest.
