Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Giulio Centemero, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean

On 27 January, Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Giulio Centemero, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, within the framework of participation in the Second Session of the PAM Women Parliamentary Forum, held in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

During the meeting, issues related to cooperation between the NAM PN and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean were discussed. Ms. Sahiba Gafarova emphasized the importance of developing international parliamentary cooperation and highlighted the potential for enhanced interaction between the two platforms.

The discussion focused on prospects for cooperation between the NAM PN and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, including the possibility of granting reciprocal observer status. It was noted that the consideration of similar issues within both organizations creates favorable conditions for dialogue, coordination, and the exchange of experience.

The meeting underscored the value of strengthening engagement between the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network and other regional parliamentary assemblies in order to promote inclusive dialogue and advance shared parliamentary objectives.
