Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Jacob Mudenda, Speaker of the National Assembly of Zimbabwe

On 18 November, Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, emphasized that NAM PN serves as an essential forum for addressing global challenges, with particular attention to the needs of developing and small island states. She stressed that NAM PN's role in promoting dialogue and cooperation between countries from diverse regions is vital for achieving collective solutions to the challenges posed by climate change, which was a central topic during the COP29 discussions.
Mr. Jacob Mudenda, Speaker of the National Assembly of Zimbabwe underscored Zimbabwe’s commitment to the Non-Aligned Movement and acknowledged the importance of NAM PN as a platform for parliamentary cooperation. He expressed his country’s support for the Network’s efforts and reiterated the shared goal of strengthening the ties between Zimbabwe and Azerbaijan within NAM PN and other international organizations.
The meeting also highlighted the ongoing collaboration between Azerbaijan and Zimbabwe in various international forums, including the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, which has facilitated meaningful cooperation on regional and global issues, and the potential for future growth in these areas.
