Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Khalid bin Hilal Al Maawali, Chairman of the Shura Council of the Sultanate of Oman

On January 30, Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Khalid bin Hilal Al Maawali, Chairman of the Shura Council of the Sultanate of Oman, within the framework of her participation in the 17th Session of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States Conference held in Algiers, Algeria.

Ms. Sahiba Gafarova spoke about the activities of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, which was established at the initiative of the Azerbaijani side. Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network informed about the results of the First Conference, the tasks facing the organization and the upcoming Second Conference to be held in Manama in March.

Mr. Khalid bin Hilal Al Maawali, Chairman of the Shura Council of the Sultanate of Oman, praised the activities of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network and expressed that the parliament of Oman is interested in establishing cooperation with the Parliamentary Network.

At the meeting, ideas were exchanged on further expansion of parliamentary diplomacy within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network.
