Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Khalid Hilal Nasser Al Maawali, Speaker of the Consultative Council of the Sultanate of Oman

On 17 February, on the occasion of the 15th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, both speakers expressed confidence that the plenary session would be productive and would address crucial issues, reinforcing the APA’s role as a key platform for parliamentary diplomacy that unites legislative bodies across Asia. The importance of these platforms in promoting dialogue and cooperation among member states was also highlighted.

Mr. Khalid Nasser Al Maawali reaffirmed Oman’s continued support for Azerbaijan within the NAM PN and other international frameworks, underscoring the importance of the Parliamentary Network as a platform for enhancing multilateral cooperation. He also praised Azerbaijan’s pivotal role in advancing the NAM PN’s initiatives.

The high-level collaboration within the NAM PN was seen as a key driver of this progress, with both parties reiterating their commitment to fostering this platform as a means of advancing global peace and stability through parliamentary dialogue.
