Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Manzoor Nadir, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana

On March 23, Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Manzoor Nadir, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, on the margins of the 148th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union held in Geneva.

Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, informed that the global initiatives put forward by H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan during the presidency in the Non-Aligned Movement, and in this regard, she drew attention to the importance of the establishment of the organization's Parliamentary Network in terms of the development of parliamentary diplomacy. It was recalled that the NAM PN has held an Inaugural Meeting and two Conferences so far.

Mr. Manzoor Nadir, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, expressed his views on the importance of interparliamentary relations and also noted that his country attaches special importance to cooperation within the framework of international parliamentary organizations.

During the meeting, the great importance attached by both countries to tolerance and multicultural values was highlighted, and views on the inadmissibility of national, racial and religious discrimination observed in the world were exchanged.

Besides, there was an exchange of opinions about several other matters of joint interest.
