Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Martin Chungong, the IPU Secretary General

On 19 October, Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Martin Chungong, Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, within the framework of the 151st IPU Assembly held in Geneva.

During the meeting, the activities of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network were highly appreciated. It was noted that the Network, established at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, has made notable progress in its institutional development and in strengthening its international standing.

The sides emphasized the importance of the Network’s growing role in parliamentary diplomacy and its contribution to fostering dialogue, cooperation, and mutual understanding at the international level.
