Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Mohamed Aslam, Speaker of the People’s Majlis of the Republic of Maldives

On February 23, Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Mohamed Aslam, Speaker of the People’s Majlis of the Republic of Maldives, in the framework the 14th Plenary Session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly held in Azerbaijan.

The importance of the interparliamentary platform for strengthening both bilateral and multilateral ties between member parliaments of various formats was discussed. The contribution of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network as a multilateral platform for the promotion of cooperation, dialogues and solidarity among the NAM Member States was highlighted.

At the meeting, ideas were exchanged on further expansion of parliamentary diplomacy within the framework of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network.
