Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Saqr Ghobash, Chairman of the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates

On 06 May, Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Saqr Ghobash, Chairman of the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates, within the framework of an official visit to the UAE.

During the meeting, issues related to cooperation within the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network were discussed. Ms. Sahiba Gafarova provided information on the NAM PN, established at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and highlighted that activities carried out within the framework of the Network contribute to its institutional development and the strengthening of its international standing. Satisfaction was expressed with the participation of representatives of the UAE parliament in the activities of the NAM PN.

Chairman of the Federal National Council Mr. Saqr Ghobash congratulated Ms. Sahiba Gafarova on her re-election as Chairperson of the NAM PN, noting that amid growing polarization and tensions in international relations, the Network has the potential to play an important and constructive role. He emphasized that the United Arab Emirates attaches great importance to cooperation within the NAM PN.
