Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, Chairman of the Senate of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan

On 5 April, Ms. Sahiba Gafarova informed the Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan about the activities of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, founded upon the initiative of the President of Azerbaijan, as well as the steps taken towards the institutional development of the organisation. Confidence was expressed that the Network’s Fourth Conference, to be held in Tashkent, will serve as a platform for important discussions and lead to successful outcomes in terms of the organisation’s future development.

Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan, Mr. Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani, praised the work done under the Azerbaijani Chairmanship in the NAM Parliamentary Network. The role of parliamentary diplomacy carried out within the NAM PN was highlighted and the importance of further institutionalization of the Network was stressed.
