Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Ms. Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan

On 16 April, Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Ms. Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan within the framework of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) held in Istanbul.

The discussion touched upon the importance of further expanding cooperation between the parliaments both on a bilateral basis and within the framework of international parliamentary organizations. The sides expressed their satisfaction with solidarity and mutual support within parliamentary organizations.

In this context, it was noted that the IPU is an important platform, and it was also stated that the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement is of significant importance for cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.

During the conversation, an exchange of views was also held on other issues of mutual interest, including the cooperation within the NAM PN.
