Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Ms. Tanzila Narbayeva,Speaker of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan

On 19 February, Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Ms. Tanzila Narbayeva, Speaker of the Senate of Uzbekistan. The mutually beneficial inter-parliamentary cooperation within the NAM PN was discussed during the meeting.

Ms. Sahiba Gafarova highlighted the significant progress made during Azerbaijan's chairmanship, emphasizing the Network's role in fostering inter-parliamentary cooperation. Ms. Narbayeva expressed Uzbekistan’s support for the NAM PN and praised Azerbaijan’s leadership in advancing its institutional development. Both sides committed to strengthening NAM PN activities and cooperation.

The discussions also focused on the importance of furthering the NAM PN's role in addressing key global challenges, promoting peace, and enhancing cooperation between member states. Speaker reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to advancing the Network’s objectives and facilitating parliamentary diplomacy on the global stage.
