Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, took part in the Closing Ceremony of the 11th G20 Speakers’ Summit

On 03 October, following the conclusion of the 11th Summit of Speakers of Parliament of the Group of Twenty (G20) held in Cape Town, Ms. Sahiba Gafarova attended the closing ceremony of the Summit in her capacity as Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network.

During the ceremony, the host of the Summit, Ms. Thoko Didiza, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of South Africa, expressed her appreciation for Ms. Gafarova’s participation and highly valued her role as Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network.

On the margins of the closing ceremony, meetings were held in which the significance of the Summit and the issues discussed within its framework were noted, with particular attention paid to prospects for strengthening dialogue and cooperation among parliaments.

In this context, the role of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network as an important platform for fostering inter-parliamentary dialogue, enhancing cooperation among member parliaments, and contributing to parliamentary diplomacy at the international level was underscored.
