On November 21, Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network met with Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, President of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, within the framework of her official visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia.
Ms. Sahiba Gafarova touched upon the support provided by the member states to the establishment of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network with the initiative of Azerbaijan, the State Chairing the Organization. Chairperson gave extensive information about the Inaugural Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network held in Madrid in November 2021 and the Baku Conference held in Azerbaijan from June 30 to July 1 of this year. Ms Sahiba Gafarova highlighted that delegations from more than 40 countries and 8 international organizations participated in the Baku Conference. Ms Gafarova also recalled that a member of the National Assembly of Vietnam participated in the Inaugural Meeting held in Madrid.
Ms Sahiba Gafarova mentioned that the next Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network was planned to be held in Manama next March on the sidelines of the 146th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. She extensively described the tasks facing the Parliamentary Network and the work to be completed during the next term.
Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, President of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam said that as a member of the Non-Aligned Movement, Vietnam attached great importance to cooperation within the framework of this organization.
At the meeting, opinions were exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
