Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement, met with Ms. Puan Maharani, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia

Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Chairperson of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement, met with Ms. Puan Maharani, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, on October 5 within the framework of the participation in the 8th G20 Parliamentary Speakers' Summit, held in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Expressing her satisfaction with the meeting, Ms Sahiba Gafarova thanked Ms. Puan Maharani for inviting her to the 8th G20 Parliamentary Speakers' Summit. She pointed out that the event was dedicated to very significant topics that concern everyone in the modern world.

Ms. Sahiba Gafarova reported on the activities of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, established at the initiative of H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. She listed the measures implemented during the Chairmanship of Azerbaijan for further transformation of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network into a prestigious global inter-parliamentary organization. She thanked Ms. Puan Maharani for her participation in the Inaugural Meeting of the Parliamentary Network held in November 2021, in Madrid.

Ms. Puan Maharani, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, said that the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network was fully in line with the spirit of the Movement and its goals, and touched upon Indonesia's support for the activities of the Network. She also mentioned the usefulness of the platform for all member states.

At the meeting, opinions were exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
