Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Khalid Hilal Nasser Al Maawali, Chairman of the Shura Council of the Sultanate of Oman

On 24 June, Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Khalid Hilal Nasser Al Maawali, Chairman of the Shura Council of the Sultanate of Oman, who was visiting Azerbaijan to participate in the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Member States.

The meeting noted the cooperation between the legislative bodies within international parliamentary organisations such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement and the Parliamentary Union of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Member States. Speaker Sahiba Gafarova expressed satisfaction with Oman’s close involvement in the work of the Parliamentary Network of the Non-Aligned Movement, established at the initiative of President of Azerbaijan H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev.

It was noted that under Azerbaijan's chairmanship, significant efforts have been made to establish the Parliamentary Network and strengthen its institutional foundations, positioning it as an important platform for international cooperation.

During the conversation, an exchange of views was also held on other issues of mutual interest, including the cooperation within the NAM PN.
