Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA)

On 15 September, Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, met with Mr. Ramil Hasan, Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA).

The meeting included an exchange of views on TURKPA’s role in further developing cooperation among Turkic states, the organisation’s importance as a forum for discussing issues of interest to Turkic-speaking countries, and the significance of the support its member states’ leaders provide to the organisation.

Speaker Sahiba Gafarova shared her views on the work carried out through TURKPA during Azerbaijan’s chairmanship and on expanding the organisation’s ties with international parliamentary organisations, including the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network.
