NAM Parliamentary Network was granted Observer Status at the TÜRKPA

The Non-Aligned Movement’s Parliamentary Network application for observer status at the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TÜRKPA) was endorsed at the 12th Plenary Session of the TÜRKPA held in Ankara.

Ms. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Chairperson of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network welcomed the broadening of the TÜRKPA’s international relations. The Memorandum of Understanding between the NAM PN and the TÜRKPA which was signed in February of this year and a continued cooperation within the granted status will make the international ties of the TÜRKPA yet stronger.

The Ankara Declaration adopted within the 12th Plenary Session of the TÜRKPA praises the input made by Azerbaijan as Chair of the Non-Aligned Movement and Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network to strengthen cooperation within the NAM. The parties highly appreciated the successful conduct of the Baku Conference held on 30 June-1 July 2022 and the Manama Conference held on March 13, 2023.
