As a part of the awareness-raising tour launched by the NAM PN Secretariat, a group of staff members of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Mr.Rustam Mahmudov, Deputy Chief of Staff, Mr. Ilkin Mammadov, Head of the International Relations Department and Mr. Ruslan Ismayilov, Chief Advisor of the Department and Secretary of the parliamentary delegation of Azerbaijan to the NAM PN) visited Geneva and New-York cities from January 24 to February 2, 2023. The delegation attended both monthly Ambassadorial meetings of the NAM organized at the UN Office in Geneva, Switzerland and at the UN Headquarters in New York, USA. The members of delegation had a chance to deliver speeches and demonstrate video presentations on the history of the NAM PN and the work done by since its establishment. The participants of both meetings were widely informed about the preparation works for the Second Conference of the NAM PN to be held on March 13 on the sidelines of the 146th IPU Assembly in Manama, Bahrain.
In the framework of the visit to Switzerland, the NAM PN Secretariat staff members also visited the Inter-Parliamentary Union Secretariat (IPU) in Geneva. At the meeting, the future prospects of a mutually beneficial cooperation between the NAM PN and IPU were broadly discussed.
