Dr. Jorge J. Rodríguez Gómez is a psychiatrist, university
professor, writer and award-winning poet. He is a member of the
National Committee of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela
(PSUV).

In the legislative elections of December 6, 2020, he was elected
Deputy for the city of Caracas and he is the President of the
National Assembly since January 5th 2021.

 

Previously, between 2017 and 2020, he served as Sectorial Vice President of Communication, Tourism and Culture and Minister of People's Power for Communication and Information of the Executive Branch of Venezuela.

In 2017, he began activities as Head of the Dialogue Commission of the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela for Peace and Coexistence.


Between 2008 and 2017, he served as Mayor of the Bolivarian
Libertador Municipality of the Capital District.

In the period between 2007 and 2008, he served as Executive
Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

In the period 2005-2006, he served as the President of the
National Electoral Council.
